On December 26, 2019, the on-site meeting of project of Southern (Shaoguan) Intelligent and Connected New Energy Automobile Testing Center was held at Xinfeng County, Shaoguan City. On the same day, the construction of Southern (Shaoguan) Intelligent and Connected New Energy Automobile Testing Center (the “South Testing Ground”) was officially started.

The Southern Testing Ground, jointly constructed by GAC Group and Shaoguan City, covers about 34 km², and its total investment registered 2.15 billion yuan, including the investment worth 1.72 billion yuan of Phase 1. The project of Phase 1 is set to be completed and put into operation in by 2023, while that of Phase 2 by 2025. Upon finishing, the entire project is estimated to add over 5,000 new jobs, reach an annual turnover of 250 million yuan in 2023 at the early stage of operation and that of 1 billion yuan in 2031, and a total revenue driven by the project could achieve 2 billion per year, and create annual taxes of 300 million yuan.
